The Story Behind the Story
From the Author’s Heart: The Story Behind the Story
As I sit here today with the paperback of Iridescence of the Raven finally in my hands, I wanted to share a little bit about why this story exists.
Writing this book was not just a creative choice; it was a necessity. It is a story born out of grief, written largely by my Mother’s bedside during her final days. While the world of Blaine is one of fiction and supernatural wonder, it carries "embers of truth" from my own life and the "what if" scenarios I’ve carried with me for years.
The Truth in the Fiction
I chose to share this under the pseudonym Katherine Eileen Dowling because the themes are deeply personal. Within these pages, you will find:
Themes of Loss: The exploration of deep, life-altering grief.
The Power of Family: The beautiful way a new family can blossom and take someone in when they are at their lowest.
The Magic within the Light: The influences of the elements and the light that my friends taught me about so long ago.
It touches on betrayal, fear, and a longing for motherhood—a tragic tale in many ways, but one that I promise is filled with love and blossoming hope.
A Note to My Readers
I am incredibly nervous to share this part of my soul with the world, but I knew this was a story that simply had to be told. Whether you read it on Kindle Unlimited or hold the paperback in your hands, I hope you find a piece of that light within the darkness of the Raven's world.
Thank you for walking this path with me.
